Irish Beach is located in Mendocino, the Northern Coast
of California. The scenery
here is breathtaking. The beach is one of California's
finest. It stretches for 5 miles in a gentle curve that
ends at the Garcia River and is loaded with driftwood.
And the famous Point
Arena Lighthouse presides over it all.
Recently, the Stornetta Family donated 1700 acres for
hiking, walking and beachcombing around the Lighthouse
headlands and the river. This is the place for enjoying
inspirational scenery, the soothing sounds of the ocean
and small picturesque towns. Nearby are Elk
and Manchester.
The local store at Manchester has every grocery, deli
and hardware item one might want or need, not to mention
a few DVD's.
Traveling further north are the towns of Fort Bragg,
only a 35 to 45 minute drive. There is also Gualala,
a 35 minute drive south. Irish Beach is within easy
reach of the best-loved attractions on California's
North Coast, including Anderson Valley, a premier wine
appellation just over the ridge, 25 miles inland from
Elk.
